Applications are currently open for the 2024 FAO Fellowship Programme. The Fellows Programme is intended to attract fellows, who are often PhD students, researchers, or professors with extensive technical expertise and experience in any of the Organization’s fields. They are willing to meet their specialized learning objectives while also contributing their technical experience and knowledge through time-bound arrangements with FAO.

Assignments should be in line with theย UN Sustainable Development Goalsย andย FAOโ€™s Strategic Frameworkย to support the 2030 Agenda through the transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems forย better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind.

Minimum Requirements

โ€ข ย  ย Graduate or post-graduate degree (Masterโ€™s or PhD) or be enrolled in a PhD programme in a โ€œbona fideโ€ educational institution at the time of application or recent graduate. Please note that FAO only considers higher educational qualifications obtained from an institution accredited/recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list updated by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The list can be accessed atย http://www.whed.net/.
โ€ข ย  ย Candidates should have at least two years of relevant working or research experience in one of the fields of the Organization.
โ€ข ย  ย Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish). Knowledge of a second FAO language will be considered an asset.
โ€ข ย  ย Be nationals ofย FAO Members.
โ€ข ย  ย Candidates should be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.
