AIIDEV Africa’s Sustainable Energy Accelerator (SEA) is an innovation programme aimed at promoting sustainable energy solutions and fostering energy sector entrepreneurship. The SEA’s primary goal is to catalyze the development and deployment of sustainable energy solutions across Africa, while also promoting economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and addressing pressing energy challenges.
SEA is structured as an intensive accelerator programme, providing selected participants with a supportive environment to develop their energy solutions. The accelerator programme will span over a period of 6 months, featuring advanced workshop series, case-study development, innovation research, bootcamps, and mentorship sessions that will provide participants with intensive support and guidance in enhancing their knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities, thus enabling them to drive positive change in Africa’s energy sector.
FOCUS SECTOR
The Sustainable Energy Accelerator welcomes a wide range of projects and startups focused on sustainable energy solutions, including but not limited to renewable energy generation and distribution systems, energy-efficient technologies and solutions for buildings, industries, and transportation, energy storage and management solutions, clean cooking technologies, smart grid and energy management systems, digital and IoT-enabled energy solutions, and sustainable transportation and mobility.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To participate in this programme, please note the following criteria before proceeding with your application:
- Applicants must be a Sub-Saharan African countries between the age of 21 and 40.
- Applicants must have a genuine interest and passion for renewable energy and green economy and a desire to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development in Africa.
- Applicant should demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their respective communities.
- You must be ready to commit atleast 5 hours weekly and available to actively participate in the programme.
- Applicants must have access to a reliable internet connection, data, and necessary technology devices to fully participate in virtual activities and meetings.
