2. Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship:
In 1949, Abdul Bader was born in Tehran, the capital of Iran. He left his country after completing elementary school and went to Great Britain to finish his secondary education. For further study, he later travelled to the United States.
He returned to Iran shortly before the Islamic Revolution after receiving a Master of Arts in Law & Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
The passing of his father and the establishment of the Islamic Republic in Iran were only two of the numerous circumstances that altered Mr Bader’s career path. His time was then spent managing a private, inherited business.
The award is worth $40,000 for a full-time 12-month academic year of study. The scholarship is re-eligible every year pending an evaluation of progress.

He began working for the Nova Scotia Department of Education in 1975 as the Provincial Coordinator of Ethnic Services, where he was in charge of developing human rights education as well as ethnic and cultural services.
