2025 Nippon Foundation Training Program in Germany For Developing Countries

2025 Nippon Foundation Training Program in Germany For Developing Countries  The Purpose of this Program is to invite candidates from developing countries who are working on issues related to the law of the sea, maritime law, or dispute settlement. The program aims to develop the skills and deepen their knowledge of dispute settlement in the law of the sea under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The Training Program also includes a visit to other Countries in Europe like the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, and Germany. There is no application fee and all participant’s costs including Travel, accommodation, insurance, and stipend are covered by the Nippon Foundation. Features of the Program Participants will spend 9 Months in Hamburg. Participants will attend lectures inter alia, on the law of the sea, dispute settlement, and environmental law. Age: 25-40 years old. Education: Law degree and demonstrated research capacity. Profession: Junior to mid-level government officials (ocean affairs/maritime law) OR researchers (ocean/maritime legal issues). Research Proposal: Must propose a research topic relevant to their State’s UNCLOS implementation (especially Part XV). Nomination: The nominating body must explain the applicant’s tasks and how training will benefit the institution/State. Language Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of English or French, and working knowledge of the other. English is the primary language of instruction. The Program Covers: Travel Expenses: Round-trip travel costs to and from Hamburg, Germany. Accommodation: Participants are provided Free accommodation near the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Monthly Allowance: A monthly stipend is given to cover living expenses. Medical Insurance: Comprehensive medical insurance is included. The Leventis Foundation Nigeria is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering youths and farmers through training in modern, sustainable agricultural practices and the responsible use of natural resources. Since its inception in 1987, the Foundation has been at the forefront of agricultural training, with six agricultural training schools strategically established across different agro-ecological zones in Nigeria. These schools, located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Osun, Kano, and Gombe states, are co-funded by the Leventis Foundation and the respective State Governments. The schools provide comprehensive one-year training programs designed for young men and women passionate about building rewarding careers in farming and agribusiness. Participants gain hands-on experience across diverse areas of agriculture, agricultural value chains, and farm enterprises. About Leventis Foundation Agricultural Training Program 2025: The School is located in Yaba town in Abaji Area Council of the FCT, about 101km from Abuja City gate, the Federal Capital Territory. It lies on the southern fringes of the guinea savannah belt with an annual rainfall of between 1000 and 1200mm, allowing for a mono-modal rain-fed cropping season from May to October. The School has about 50 hectares arable land with adequate room for expansion in the near future. The dominant crops include; maize, soybean, groundnut, benni seed (Sesame seed), melon, cassava and yam. Like all the other LFN Schools, the School is co-educational and enjoys a good collaborative venture between LFN and FCT.
