We help do-it-yourselfers (DIY) fix their home appliances, outdoor power tools and lawn equipment. EGP operates a family of DIY websites where we provide consumers with the parts and know-how to fix their household products themselves, offering the internet’s largest collection of step-by-step installation instructions and videos. Reporting to the manager of content and community, the Junior Marketer will be responsible for marketing tasks across Eldis Group properties. These include supporting the video studio’s efforts in research and promotion, supporting the company’s marketing programs by assisting with blog, email, and video concept production. A proficient writer and researcher, our junior marketer will be heavily involved with writing and researching content at the core of our business, producing rich and SEO-optimized product descriptions, troubleshooting, and repair content for our properties. Experience with DIY and an understanding of repair is an asset, but the ability to learn and research these processes to produce expert-level content is essential. The Junior Marketer is on-hand to provide general support to the marketing team and will contribute to the rollout and ongoing work required for the implementation of new website initiatives, features, and programs. This is an entry-level position, and as the successful applicant grows and develops within the role, duties and responsibilities will change and grow accordingly.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research and gathering of information from various resources to inform product knowledge and descriptions, and other website content depending on needs and priority.
  • Writing of high-quality product descriptions, troubleshooting content, repair content, and other web content based on research and SEO principles to improve performance of product and other types of pages.
  • Comprehensive QA and checking of descriptions and research to ensure accuracy.
  • Consultation and communication with video studio, repair technicians, and other related marketing team members to address content needs.
  • Writing of high-quality video outlines that studio can use for production of videos with minimum of additional research required.
  • Working on a variety of tasks simultaneously for or adjacent to the marketing team, depending on priorities.
  • Adhering to deadlines required by multiple teams and stakeholders and maintaining regular communication with team members both inside and outside of the direct marketing team.
  • Specificities of duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the program, initiative, or feature being worked on. It is essential that the junior marketer is comfortable and motivated working with a diverse range of tasks and initiatives that encompass a range of content, SEO, and marketing philosophies.
  • Production of high-quality, SEO-optimized blog articles to support emails and other marketing priorities.
  • Accurate and high-quality email campaign production as needed, determined by the email schedule. Emails should be optimized to maximize click rate, open rate, minimize unsubscribes and drive revenue.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in advanced English Spelling and Grammar

Qualifications Considered an Asset:

  • Proficiency in the fundamentals of SEO
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Proficiency and experience writing content for web properties
  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management tools
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics
  • Proficiency with WordPress and/or other website management tools
