Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology (AIT) program is an intensive, four-year initiative designed to cultivate the next wave of Black technology leaders in the United States. Recognizing that young people of African descent often overlook technology careers due to limited industry awareness, community misconceptions (such as a perceived lack of prestige), and a scarcity of resources, AIT seeks to address these challenges head-on. Through the AIT program, scholars engage in a comprehensive four-year journey, gaining vital skills and access to a supportive network of peers, mentors, advisors, and established professionals in the technology sector. This program is their commitment to building a robust pipeline of Black Software Engineers and Data Scientists. The SoCreative Africa learning programme for aspiring and early-stage young African entrepreneurs is focused on entrepreneurship and delivers a collection of free online courses for the next generation of African leaders to support them through their business journey. The programme is developed to support the British Council’s wider Creative Economy strand, designed to help develop an ecosystem in which young entrepreneurs can thrive. Programme Modules Creative Entrepreneurship Basic: Understanding the Creative Economy (Including what sectors constitute the Creative Economy, the economic, social and cultural value of the Creative Industries) using relevant case studies and data to aid understanding). CAAP is designed for young innovators and changemakers aged 18 to 35 who are committed to developing solutions for climate challenges and contributing to a net-zero future. This initiative offers advanced training, boot camps, environmental campaigns, clean-up efforts, tree-planting activities, ecological tours, and innovation-driven learning to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable impact. IBRO Exchange Fellowships 2025 (International Brain Research Organization) For Less Developed Countries  This grant program is designated for covering travel and local expenses throughout the exchange period. Priority will be given to applicants from less developed and under-funded countries, in combination with efforts to ensure both gender and regional diversity. IBRO Exchange Fellowships 2025 Type: Fellowship, Grant Sponsor: International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Eligible Countries: Less Developed Countries Value: Up to $8,000 Deadline: April 15, 2025 Eligibility Criterias for the IBRO Exchange Fellowships 2025 PhD neuroscience students Early career postdoctoral fellows maximum 5 years from the start of the postdoc Only applicants currently residing in the following regions are eligible to apply: Asia-Pacific Latin America Africa US/Canada Africa The applicants must be affiliated with a research and/or academic institution within the Africa region. Applicants have the flexibility to apply for international exchanges either within or outside the Africa region. The grant is to be used along with matching funds from the host laboratory to defray the cost of travel and to subsidize living costs. The proposed laboratory exchange should last a minimum of 3 months. Quality of Research Proposal: The proposed research reflects a high standard of work in a significant research area, with clear aims, objectives, and a structured plan. Quality and Commitment of Host Lab: The host lab has a good reputation in the applicant’s research area(s), has expressed a strong commitment to support the proposed research, and has indicated matching research funds. Letters of Reference: The referees highly regard the applicant and assess their potential and suitability for IBRO funding. Benefit for the Applicant & Value to Home Lab: The applicant has clearly justified the need for the fellowship, and the value it brings to their home lab (through knowledge transfer, collaboration, etc.).
