Call for Applications: IBRO Brain Ageing and Dementia in LMICs Course 2022 (Funded)

Applications are open for theย International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO) Brain Ageing and Dementia in LMICs. The aim of this school is to educate African trainees and early career researchers in how to measure cognitive impairment and dementia in all contexts.
This in-person meeting and training course will provide a forum to discuss risk factors and the increasing burden of vascular and neurodegenerative diseases including HIV Dementias in the context of incidence and prevention in cross-cultural populations in Low and Middle Income Countries compared to Europe, North America and Japan. The emphasis is particularly on how to measure cognition in the elderly and implement neuropsychometeric tools.

Eligibility

  • Open to trainees and early career researchers within Africa;
  • The should be working on brain ageing and dementia.

Application
The application deadline is September 30, 2022 (5:00 p.m. CET). The training will hold from December 5-9, 2022 at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
