Call for Nominations: 2026 GRO GEST Fellowship at the University of Iceland
The GRÓ Gender Equality Studies and Training (GRÓ GEST) program calls for nominations for its academic programme in 2026.
The GEST programme is a one semester postgraduate-level program (30 ECTS) at the University of Iceland, which runs from January to May 2026
The GRO GEST Fellowship is a Five-Month fully funded training program for Young Professionals from low and middle-income countries.
At the end of the fellowship, candidates will get a Postgraduate diploma in Gender Equality Studies and Training (GEST).
Every year, 20-25 young professionals are selected to attend the program. The Program aims to promote gender equality and social justice in low- and middle-income countries through a multidisciplinary approach.

- Project Development Tools
- Gender, Violence, and Security
- Gender, Labour, and Migration
- Gender, Environment and Climate Change

2026 GRO GEST Fellowship Requirements
- The GRO GEST Fellowship is open to applicants from low and middle-income countries.
- Education: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Language: Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience.
- Age: Preferably under 35.
- Skills: Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to gender equality.

Application Process
- Step 1: Obtain a nomination from your supervisor at your current workplace. This nomination must be submitted by March 8, 2025, through the GEST website. The nomination form is available on the website.
- Step 2: If you are a qualified nominee, you will be asked to submit an individual application sometime in mid-late March.
- Step 3: Selected applicants will be invited to participate in the second phase of the application process.
